Delias discus

Delias iltis leucotera

The classification used in this and the individual group pages is that used by Yagishita in his Illustrated list of the Genus Delias (Hubner) of the World, published by Khepera Publishers of Singapore in 1993, with revisions made due to subsequent research, in particular following publication of 'A Review of the Delias clathrata group from Irian Jaya and Papua New Guinea' by Henk van Mastrigt, from Neue Entomologische Nachrichten published in May 2000 (ISSN 0722-3773).

Although the individual species within some groups can appear completely unrelated, these groups are determined by the structure, and are linked through similarity of their Vein patterns, Scent-scales and internal organs. At other times it may be impossible to distinguish species within a group just by pattern alone. Again one must look at Scent-scales and genitalia to find the differences.
