| The recent upgrading of this species from a subspecies of D. sagessa is a matter of some disagreement. The main reasoning seems to be the lack of the red spot at the bottom of the yellow underside hindwing patch. However, I have seen a specimen with very rudimentary red dusting in that area, which leads me to think that its position here as a separate species can be considered doubtful. |
