This species can be distinguished from all others in
the Group by the absence of a white costal patch on the underside of the
hind wing.
According to all current thinking, this species is
confined to Papua New Guinea and in the Star Mountains of Irian Jaya,
near the Papua New Guinea border. However, below you will find a specimen labeled
from the Snow Mountains of Irian Jaya. I am not aware that any specimens have been found in
this locality before. In view of the provenance of this species, I am
not inclined to state categorically that this is a mistake. |
