The massive island of Borneo is divided into Kalimantan,
being part of Indonesia, and Sarawak and Sabah, which are part
of Malaysia. The small Sultanate of Brunei intrudes into the
Malaysian section.
Much of inland Kalimantan has not been properly researched
in respect of its Natural History, and of the species found
there, most have currently been described only from the Western
Mountains of Mt. Bawang and Mt. Saran.
Expeditions to the Central Mountains and the East of the
Province would, I am sure produce new species or subspecies. |
