Java with Madura and Bawean Islands

Well known as the most densely populated island in the world, Java is home to many unique species. Some of these are limited to the areas surrounding specific mountains, which form the backbone of this large island. Of the Delias, three species are endemic to the island, as are most of the subspecies. With the exception of D. hyparete hyparete, D. periboea periboea and D. pasithoe egialea, all species and subspecies are only to be found within small specified areas.
