Notes         :
Considered by many to be a subspecies of Delias fascelis,  it is to be distinguished by the yellow colouring of the upperside. Henk van Mastrigt puts forward a good case for placing this as a subspecies in his recent article published in Futao, No 41, ISSN 0916-1112 (22 June 2002). The true status of this 'species' remains a subject of heavy discussion.

Male: Upperside of forewing with basal area as in fascelis but citron-yellow. Two subapical yellow dots. Hind wing citron-yellow, with black outer border of similar width and shape to fascelis. Underside of fore wing as in  fascelis, but the subapical spots orange-yellow, with discal dusting yellowish and more extended. Hind wing much as in fascelis. The postdiscal band is much broader both in its yellow and white portions. Submarginal spots orange-yellow. Cellules 2 and 3 with yellow dusting between the band and the submarginal spots, no yellow spot in cellule 6.

Female: Description not presently available.
