Wingspan : 60-63 mm
Range        : aganippe - S.E. Australia
Notes         :
A remarkable Australian insect, which is placed in this group due to the shape of the uncus and scent-scale, though it does appear to be somewhat isolated.

There are two broods each year, and the entire life cycle is well known. This species tends to fly high up around the tops of trees, rarely approaching ground level. The rarer males are invariably smaller than the females.

Although not uncommon, they are not to be found in many collections nowadays, owing to the Australian Wildlife Authority's strict export rules concerning all Australian fauna and flora.
