| A beautiful small species, closely
allied to D. sagessa. It differs from D.sagessa through the greatly reduced black markings on both wings, with the yellow/cream markings on the underside hindwing correspondingly enlarged, and also larger red spots. The specimen of D.a.bugebu shown on the subspecies page is a paratype of the new subspecies, only recently described, and I am grateful to Robert Gotts for providing me this. D.a.bugebu differs from the nominate form by having slightly reduced black borders on the upper & undersides of the forewing and on the underside of the hindwing, and D.a.okbibab is whiter on the underside of the forewing and smaller red spots on the underside hindwing. The female of subspecies D.a.okbibab is currently unknown.. |
