Species details : This is a common species found at the edges of forests. This species is very similar to the slightly larger Pararonia valeria, which is common on the mainland, and it is quite possible that this latter species is present on the Island, but has simply been missed owing to this similarity. The female is found in two forms. The normal form (pictured) , and the rarer f. lutea, which has yellow dusting on the basal area of the upperside hindwing.
