Species details : A common rapid flying species which can often be found patrolling paths and streams on the edge of forests, or puddling (taking up salts from damp ground), sometimes in large numbers.

This is the only species of several similar looking species to be found on Koh Samui. All the species of this group are attracted to anything blue, and can easily be attracted to bright blue cloth, plastic or paint on the ground.

Early stages          : Known, but not pictured

Larval Foodplant : Cinnamomum, Polyalthia and other Annonaceae, Mesua ferrea and Michelia sp.

Range                    : Peninsular Thailand and Malaysia (other subspecies found from Sri Lanka, India through Indo-China to southern Japan, Indonesia and the Philippines).
