Species details : This species is only
encountered infrequently, at the edges of forests. The female is easily
distinguished by the white band on the hindwing, which no other member
of this Genus on the Island has. In the photos,
above, it appears that both the male and female upperside specimens,
have had the same fate, and had been attacked, probably by a lizard or
skink. Early stages
: Known. More detailed life history
information is available from the following resource:
ButterflyCircle Blog (courtesy of Dr. Horace Tan.) Larval
Foodplant : Scurrula parasitica (Loranthaceae)
Range
: Peninsular Thailand and Langkawi Island (Malaysia). Other
subspecies on mainland Malaysia, Sundaland, Lesser Sunda Islands and the
Philippines.
