Species details : The males and females are identical. In many publications, the butterfly is known as C. e. lotis, but this name has been synonymised with the nominate form.

This species is almost entirely confined to forested areas, and is very common.

Larval Foodplant : Celtis tetandra (Ulmaceae), Flacourtia indica, Flacourtia rukum (both Flacourtiaceae), Homalium tomentosum (Fagaceae) and Lepisanthes fruticosa (Sapindaceae).

Range                    : N. E. India, to S. China, throughout the Malay Peninsular, Sundaland and the Philippines.
