Chersonesia intermedia intermedia - Martin 1895 The Intermediate Maplet
Species details : A common forest species. This is easily mistaken for the equally common C. rahria, but can be distinguished by having only one small dark subapical spot, whereas the latter has two. It is a weak flyer. Typical of the Genus, when it rests, it keeps its wings open making it very difficult to photograph the undersides. Early stages : Not known, but likely to be very similar to C. rahria Larval Foodplant : Ficus racemosa (Moraceae) has been recorded Range : Peninsular Thailand, Malaysia, Sumatra and Borneo. Other subspecies in N. E. India to Vietnam, including N. Thailand. |
