Species details : The most common of the Ariadne species on Samui. Differs from A. isaeus by the white spot near the fore wing apex, and from A. merione by having only a single black discal line on both wings. Typical of the Genus, it is to be found in forests and forest edges.

Larval Foodplant : Ricinus communis - Castor Oil Plant, Cnesmone javanica (both Euphorbiaceae)

Range                    : N. E. India, to S. China and Peninsular Thailand. Other subspecies in Sri Lanka, Peninsular India and throughout Sundaland and Lesser Sunda Islands.
